About Us

Geese Chasers™ is the leading name in humane Canada Goose control, with a 20-year history of solving goose problems for commercial, residential, municipal, and state clients. We do one thing, and we do it better than anyone else: we make your property unattractive to resident Canada Geese, safely and humanely, for good.

Our professionally trained dog handlers visit your property multiple times a day, seven days a week, until the geese get the message and move on. From there, we shift into ongoing maintenance so they never come back.

Why Border Collies?

Border Collies use their natural herding instincts to convince geese that predators are present and their site is no longer safe. Their low, creeping, keen-eyed crouch reads as a genuine threat, far more intimidating to a goose than a dog simply running at them. The bigger the threat, the longer the geese stay away.

Border Collies are bred to herd, not retrieve, which makes them uniquely suited for this work. They’re widely considered the most intelligent dog breed, and they’re energetic, focused, and friendly, happiest when they have a job to do.

What We Know About Canada Geese Control

Geese don’t abandon a property after one bad encounter. What actually moves them out is the pattern breaking down over repeated visits, since an established flock has strong ties to a spot it’s used successfully before and won’t give it up after a single disruption.

Spring brings its own deadline. Once nesting starts, Connecticut and federal protections limit how much a nest can legally be disturbed, so the window before eggs are laid is the easiest and most effective time to get a flock to relocate. Waiting until nesting is underway usually means a longer, harder process later in the season.

Coastal and waterfront properties across Fairfield and New Haven counties tend to draw geese back more stubbornly than inland sites, mainly because open water paired with mowed lawn is close to ideal habitat for them. That combination is part of why shoreline properties often need a longer maintenance stretch before the birds fully move on for good.
